Bones of the Hills Signed by Conn Iggulden

UK First Edition First Print hardback

From the Publisher:
The powerful and exhilarating third novel in Conn Iggulden’s No. 1 bestselling Conqueror series, following the life and adventures of the mighty Genghis Khan The fatherless boy, exiled from his tribe, whom readers have been following in ‘Wolf of the Plains’ and ‘Lords of the Bow’,has grown into the great king, Genghis Khan.
He has united the warring tribes and even taken his armies against the great cities of their oldest enemies.
Now he finds trouble rising west of the Mongolian plains.
His emissaries are mutilated or killed; his trading gestures rebuffed.
So, dividing his armies, using his sons as generals of the various divisions,he sends them out simultaneously in many directions, ranging as far as modern Iran and Iraq.
As well as discovering new territories, exacting tribute from conquered peoples, laying waste the cities which resist, this policy is also a way of diffusing the rivalries between his sons and heirs and working out who should succeed the khan.
This, the third book in the Conqueror series, is once more an epic story .

Titles Coming in next few weeks

Azincourt Signed by Bernard Cornwell

Azincourt Signed by Bernard Cornwell

We are expecting Signed Uk First Edition First print copies, directly from the publishers.
We understand that Bernard is Signing before the end of October, so we should receive these into stock late October/early November.

From the Publisher
Agincourt, fought on October 25th 1415, on St Crispin’s Day, is one of the best known battles, in part through the brilliant depiction of it in Shakespeare’s Henry V, in part because it was a brilliant and unexpected English victory and in part because it was the first battle won by the use of the longbow – a weapon developed by the English which enabled them to dominate the European battlefields for the rest of the century. Bernard Cornwell’s Azincourt is a vivid, breathtaking and meticulously well researched account of this momentous battle and its aftermath. From the varying viewpoints of nobles, peasants, archers, and horsemen, Azincourt skilfully brings to life the hours of relentless fighting, the desperation of an army crippled by disease and the exceptional bravery of the English soldiers.

Look who it is! My Story Signed By Alan Carr

Alan Carr Signed

We have been advised that Alan is due to sign copies for the publishers by the end of October.
We are expecting these into stock Late October/Early November.

From the Publisher
The brilliantly funny and inimitable Alan Carr tells his life story in his own words, from growing up in a football-mad family in Northampton to his rise to become one of Britain’s best-loved comedians.

‘Puberty had been unkind. Whereas it had come in the night and left the other boys with chiselled, stubbly chins and deep masculine voices, I’d been left with a huge pair of knockers and the voice of a pensioner.’ Alan Carr Alan Carr grew up in one of the most boring towns in England – Northampton. A place known for making shoes. It was also known for its football club, Northampton Town FC. Alan’s dad as manager of the club was a local hero. A dream come true for most lads, but not Alan. Alan wore glasses and had man boobs at 14. He did not like P.E. In his very first book, Alan tells his life story, (‘oh and what a life’) with his unique twist of natural, observational humour – ‘I’m not saying I’m a fantasist but there have been times when things that I’ve seen on television when I was younger have tended to seep into my subconscious and blended into my own life. I remember telling my Mum about the time I stopped that woman from having a diamond encrusted necklace stolen and she’d say ‘No Alan, that was Poirot.’ With his tongue-in-cheek, end of pier humour that made him famous, Alan describes an ordinary life in bursts of technicolour. His journey from awkward schoolboy hiding his man-boobs on the pitch, drinking tea with the dinner ladies and working in a call centre, to becoming one of our best-loved comedians likened to the great Frankie Howerd, make his book a guaranteed tickler with a laugh-out-loud gag on every page.

If you are interested please place a preorder-If we are unable to obtain Signed copies we will let you know, and of course will not invoice you until Signed copies are in stock.

From the Publisher
TV’s most popular chef, Gordon Ramsay, bridges the gap between his famous chef’s table (situated in the white heat of his restaurant kitchen) and his table at home with Tana and their young family. His latest cookbook is packed with simple, seasonal, modern British recipes.

Gordon lives life in the fast lane, travelling the world to foster his many hugely successful business enterprises and to film his highly acclaimed TV series. But, despite the commitments of a busy work life, he has always believed that families should sit around their tables to eat together as much as possible. His latest cookbook gathers together over 100 inspiring and well-constructed recipes which everyone will enjoy cooking for their friends and family, including Chorizo, broad bean and mint couscous, Scallop brochettes with coriander and chilli butter, Smoked salmon and horseradish cream tarts and Toffee and chocolate steamed pudding. The recipes embody Gordon’s strongly held opinion that we should support local producers and farmers’ markets, that we should cook with seasonal fresh ingredients which haven’t travelled miles to reach our plates and that we should celebrate the wealth of regional dishes available to us from Cornish crab soup to Bakewell tarts. Gordon shares the dishes that he loves to cook (and eat) when he’s off duty. With chapters covering Hot and Cold Soups; Pasta and Grains; Fish and Shellfish; Meat and Poultry; Pies and Tarts; Vegetables and Salads; Puddings and Ices and Coffee and Chocolate, each recipe is introduced with an insight into why he has chosen it and includes tips on how to re-create it perfectly. With emphasis on simplicity for stunning results, the majority of the recipes are short and easy to cook. This beautiful book has been created by one of Britain’s top designers, in tandem with an amazing young photographer. While food is king in this book, sprinkled as it is with candid photos of Gordon and the family, Cooking for Friends allows you to share his love of life and the good things in it.
